Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all of the daddies out there.

To my own father — you continue to be such an amazing, supportive Daddy. You taught me my own potential, and to be responsible for myself. You taught me to love, and what a man should be. I love you.

To my precious husband — I have no words. You are already, in our sadly non-traditional way, such a perfect father. I cannot wait to see how you develop.

To all of the other daddies out there, those with grown children, those awaiting births, and everyone in between — we all thank you.

I had a great weekend. It began with losing another 1.8 pounds and 2.5 inches. Then on Friday I got my hair done. Here is the before:

After my hair appointment, I spent several hours reading at Borders. Then I had a great dinner with my friend Tara, who I have adored since we met in high school. We had a great meal, and then we went back to her house and flipped through our old high school yearbooks. Let’s talk about scary things like THIS:
Sophmore Heather
That’s me as a sophmore in high school, so 15 years old.

Here’s me at 17, during my senior year:

Frightening, right?

Saturday I spent some time with Tara at Target, buying the Kate Nash CD. Did you all know she was brilliant? Are you holding out on me? She actually has a song called Di**head. As in, “stop being a di**head.” She is awesome.

Here’s a bit of my favorite lyrics:

You said that I must eat so many lemons ’cause I am so bitter. I said I’d rather be with your friends, mate, ’cause they are much fitter.

Awesome. Just awesome.

Today, Aaron and I had some great coffee and lunch at Baltimore Coffee & Tea.  Their coffee puts Starbucks to SHAME.

In the afternoon wewent shopping for some new clothes and shoes for him, and then saw the new Indiana Jones movie.  I have to say it was entertaining, but not amazing.  We then had dinner at my new obsession, Noodles & Company.  I LOVE this place.  We actually had dinner there last night too.  I highly recommend checking it out.  I got plain noodles with shrimp and grilled asparagus, and it was fantastic.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend.  Back to the grind…..

  • I did indeed have a good weekend. Family and barbecue and gifts…..all good stuff. Looking good with that hairdo and congrats on continuing your reign as the incredible shrinking woman.

p.s. Kate Nash is indeed awesome.

  • You. Are. Smokin’.

(Sorry, it’s taking me a while to get through my reader. But damn, you’re pretty.)
