Wine-er

27 Mar

We had an awesome time at the wine class! We sat at a table with several other people, all of whom were fun and easy going.

We started out by smelling some special blends and trying to figure out what was in them. We were terribly wrong on pretty much all of them, but it was a lot of fun. Then we got to taste some juices (not wine yet) to see what differences in astringency or acidity tasted like.

Finally, we got to taste some great wines, seven in total, and had a little bit of good food as well. We also learned, from one of the guys at our table, that there is an international club here in the city that hosts cool events like this all the time! I am excited and will totally be googling it today!

After the tasting, we walked around Dupont Circle a little, went into a fabulous late night bookshop, then ordered Chinese food from our hotel room. The room was tiny, but nice.

We slept well, and took a cab to the office this morning. Bex is doing her Arabic homework while I work, we’ll have lunch together, and then she’s heading home for the day!

All in all, an awesome beginning to the end of the week! 🙂

Wine…sounds good to me…too bad I’m working right now! The clubs sound like a blast. Maybe that is something that we should try here!
