We’ve had a nice, quiet weekend full of yummy tuna casserole, lots of baby movement, and no changes on the cervix front.

I finished Robert Payne’s Ancient Rome this morning.   Although I quite liked the book as a general history of the rise and fall of ancient Rome, I found some small issues. A smattering of historical inconsistencies, typos, and repetitive claims were distracting and took away from the scholarly potential of the book.  Verdict: B

Next up, Tom Stone’s Zeus.
