Sunday Morning News

19 Apr

Good morning!  It’s Sunday and we’re still waiting for baby!  🙂

Yesterday I had contractions every twenty minutes for about two hours, then nothing for an hour, then another two hours of regular contractions.  Then I had two really bad contractions last night, and then nothing at all.  So…  I think I am still headed in the right direction.

We had a great day out yesterday, and I am really enjoying being able to get up and out of the house.  We went and ran some errands, had lunch and ice cream out, and drove around a beautiful area south of here.  Today we’re going on a little fieldtrip to see OUR NEW HOUSE!

That’s right, we got a house!  There was a great one we really wanted, and we put an offer on it on Monday just to see if we had a chance.  We knew there were three other offers on it already, so we didn’t have a lot of hope.  When Tuesday morning came around and the property had been removed from the listings, we figured we’d lost it and planned to just keep looking.  It was Wednesday before our realtor finally found out that it was our contract that had been accepted!

We’ll have a bit of a delay in finalizing and closing on the house because there is some issue with the driveway being partially on the neighbor’s lot, so the bank and/or previous owners have to figure out and follow through with a solution before we can close.  I am hoping it’s a quick fix and we can be in the house soon!  It’s farther south than we are now, which means a little more driving for Aaron, but it’s also super convenient to a ton of stores and restaurants, and I love that.

The house itself is beautiful…  a small wooded lot, four bedrooms and three baths, a fenced yard.  We are SO excited, and we got a really good deal on it.  I know Aaron is so relieved, because he worried about us having a home of our own before or soon after Evi’s arrival.

Speaking of Miss Evi…  I am getting impatient to meet her!  I know everyone gets impatient near the end of a pregnancy, and my own physical discomfort (which it is impossible to categorize, since I have no idea what is “normal” for a pregnancy at this stage and what can be blamed on bed rest) is certainly playing a part.  Truthfully though, it is so much more than that.  My heart aches to hold her, to kiss her sweet face, to rock her to sleep and put her in her tiny, precious baby clothes…  I just can’t wait to be living the experience of raising our daughter.

Of course, Aaron has now predicted next Tuesday (a random guess) or next Friday as her due date.  He thinks Friday, since that will be our five year wedding anniversary, and as such just further proof from her that our lives will never be the same!  🙂  At least she is teaching us early on that there is no scheduling when it comes to babies!  🙂

What a lovely entry. Congratulations on the house. And I know Evi will show up when she’s good and ready; the longer she’s inside you, the stronger she’s going to be. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

So exciting! Congrats on the house!

I know this is a little early, but I thought I’d ask (before you get incredibly busy here) if we could pick a time to come visit you, Aaron and Evi… We have a couple things for her, and can’t wait to see all three of you! We’d love to bring you a meal too. Let me know once you’re settled in and up for visitors! 🙂
