Hey There!

22 Feb

I swear I haven’t forgotten the blog! This last few weeks has been insane with trying to get my health in order (updates on that here) and keeping my graduate school work under control.  Fortunately for me, one of the classes is over at the end of the month so I will be down to a single class for the rest of the semester.  It will be nice to ease up on the homework schedule a little bit.

How about you?  How are YOU doing?  I miss my blog readers.  I’m hoping to encourage people to ask me questions on Formspring, and if I get some good ones I can repost here.  I need help coming up with blog material right now… my brain is too busy!

Evi is growing like a weed… an adorable, amazing, often pink clad weed.  I was lying in bed last night with a hand on my shrinking but still ample stomach, and I had a vague physical memory of being pregnant.  I remember how hopeful and worried I was, how I wondered what she’d look like or how she’d act.  I wondered what color her eyes would be (our best guess is a green-blue combo) and whose hair she’d get (looks like a mix, since she’s as nearly bald as I was but has light hairs like her Daddy).

Now that she’s here, a lot of things are the way I thought they would be.  I love her, I adore her, I am frequently too tired…  I knew how much she’d amaze me, how much I would love her, and how much I would love Aaron for being such a good father to her.

What I didn’t, couldn’t, know was how much I would LIKE her.  I mean genuinely LIKE.  She’s not even talking yet, and I already want to hang out with her.  I like being around her.  I love watching her learn about the world, and when I am the one to make her smile or laugh I feel like a success as a human.

At nine months old, she is my favorite person on the entire planet.  If I had to choose, I would choose her… and her Daddy, since without him the family is not whole.  I find her awesome, amazing, and hilarious.  She likes to give me spontaneous kisses now, and every time she does I melt a little.

She is a miracle…  and currently a stinky one…

I say this to Fred all the time – Owen & Ella are the best to hang out with! 🙂 Besides being ridiculously cute all the time, they think everything I do is hilarious. It’s so fun to watch their little personalities developing. We need to get together again soon – I bet Ella and Evi would have a blast playing together now.
