empty boxsource

You guys? I’ve got NOTHING to say on the blog lately! Between wrestling with grad classes (trying to register for the fall and having some administrative issues) and looking for jobs and trying to keep three other blogs going, I’m afraid I’m all empty.

Comment, please?  Let me know what you’re doing.  Ask me questions. Give me blog fodder.  Then maybe next week, when (ideally) our second car (broken since December) is finally fixed, I can get out of the house and find something new to talk about.

A quick question: how soon is too soon for swimming lessons?  Once the car is fixed, I’ve been thinking about taking Evi to mommy & me swim lessons at the local indoor pool… but is she too young to get it?  I want her to learn to swim as soon as possible, but I don’t want to pay for classes if she’s too young to really take to it.  So… did your kids take any kind of lessons at one?  Did YOU take lessons this early?

We did the swim lessons together when my girl was almost 2. It was a good way to get her interested and be there so she wasn’t afraid. She won’t actually learn to swim by herself before 3 or 4, I don’t think, but it’s a fun activity for you and Evi to do.

Yep! I took lessons early, and my mom had me swimming towards her (BY MYSELF) in my toddler days. Then, I went on to swim on the high school team…would have swum in college if I’d had the motivation. I love love love the water. Always have.

She is absolutely not too young, and it’ll be great for both of you. I knew a girl growing up, she was almost an Olympic swimmer, married to an Olympic swimmer, whose family runs a swim school. They have 4 kids. All of them started swim classes before they were 6 months old.

Mommy and Me swimming is great. It gets them used to the water so they aren’t afraid.
